Meet The Team
Benjamin Barlow began his career as a prosecutor in the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office in 2010. During his career, he has served in the Family Protection Division, the South Bay and Vista Office. Mr. Barlow was first elected to the DDAA Board in 2014, and re-elected in 2016. Mr. Barlow was elected Vice President in 2018, and elected as President in 2020.

Mr. Del Portillo began his career as a prosecutor in 2006 at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office. In 2009, he joined the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and was assigned to the South Bay branch. Mr. Del Portillo has worked in the Juvenile Division, Vista branch, and is currently assigned as a Team Leader for the Major Narcotics Division. Mr. Del Portillo was first elected to the DDAA Board in 2018.

Scott Pirrello received his Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Finance from Pennsylvania State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.Mr. Pirrello began his career as a prosecutor spending two years at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office. He was hired as a Deputy District Attorney for San Diego County in January 2008. Since 2009, Mr. Pirrello has been assigned to the Family Protection Division.

Martin Nuñez

Shannon Welton received her undergraduate and Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego. She was a Deputy District Attorney for over 2 years before transferring to the newly established Department of Child Support Services.Ms. Welton is currently assigned as a DCSS managing attorney over a litigation team, as well as litigating complex and high profile matters. In addition to her litigation assignment, she is the lead attorney on a variety of projects, including the Homeless Veteran’s Outreach Project, and the Homeless Court Initiative.
